SECReTARIAT

MEET THE SECRETARIAT AND OUR LEARNING PARTNER

Secretariat

The role of the secretariat, currently Community Resources, is to provide administrative, financial and coordination support for the work of BD_Collective. It manages the infrastructure contract from Barking & Dagenham Council of £100,000 per year (40% of which must be ring-fenced for the Network Pot). There is a team of 4 (2 FTE) who facilitate the work of BD_Collective.

When the Collective was set up it was agreed by the original Steering Group that the secretariat role had to move organisation when the infrastructure contract with LBBD was retendered. This ensures that no one organisation has the opportunity to build a power base. Community Resources will hold the secretariat role until July 2024.

Ratio

Ratio is a decade-long exploration into the way social connection influences human development. Three stands of work explore one-to-one relationships between helper and helped; the reasons why some communities foster healthy relationships and others do not, and the optimal balance between public systems and civil society.
