Food  Network

During the first week of lockdown back in 2020 the foodbank HumDum received a donation of a 1,000 loaves of bread, surplus of food to feed Borough residents with too little to eat.  They knew local food banks needed this supply, but there was no way of getting information out easily.  The Food Network was formed to bring together activities focused on addressing food poverty in the borough. The network brings together organisations doing similar things. They feel that together they are stronger.

This list is constantly being updated/revised but if you notice any omissions or errors please advise Sarah by email at sarah@bdcollective.co.uk

Since BD_Collective was established, it was agreed that around 40% of the £100,000 grant from Barking & Dagenham Council would be used for ‘development’. This now makes up the ‘network pot’ and we will use the ‘Open Collective’ platform to distribute funds. This is a public platform and available for anyone to view.

The BD_Collective Leadership Teams have agreed the criteria and process for sign off which is detailed in this pdf: Network-Pot-distribution-Nov-22
