Spotlight On: Scouts – Barking and Dagenham

We provide a fun and educational environment for young people in the area, split into 5 age groups:

Beavers – 6 to 8 years

Cubs – 8 to 10 ½ years

Scouts – 10 ½ to 14 years

Explorers – 14 to 18 years

Network – 18 to 25 years

There are 9 Scout Groups in Barking & Dagenham District covering the postcodes of IG11, RM8, RM9 and RM10 with weekly meetings on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays.

We also have 2 Explorer units meeting weekly on a Wednesday and Thursday.

Scouting has been running in the area of over 80 years.

Scouts are do-ers and give-it-a-go-ers. Yes, we go camping, hiking, swimming, abseiling, cycling and canoeing. But we also get to hang out with our friends every week –  having fun, playing games, working in a team and taking on new challenges.

Everyone’s welcome here. All genders, races and backgrounds. Regardless of a child’s physical ability – there’s a Scout adventure out there waiting for them. And we’ll help them find it.
