Social Value Strategy Implementation.
BDGiving was invited to facilitate a workshop for interested parties to explore the social value strategy currently in place in Barking and Dagenham. LBBD wanted to have a better understanding of the support needed and general pressures across VCSEs in the borough year-on-year. They also wanted to identify and understand how these community needs evolve in a fair and transparent way. Collectively, we all wanted to ensure that Social Value matches these needs as much as possible.
This workshop developed a series of recommendations that the Council are keen to implement, and we have agreed that BD_Collective will lead on this. We are looking for a facilitator who will work with a range of people over the next year to build on the recommendations to…
- Expand the social value advisory panel.
- Create a Social Value charter.
- Test resident engagement in commissioning process.
- Monitor the impact of Social Value locally.
