We co-hosted this important workshop last week outlining the opportunities available via the Health Inequalities fund and the Cost of Living Alliance. Please find attached the slides from presentations by Mike Brannan (Public health) and Pip Salvador-Jones (Citizens Advice Bureau BD) outlining the huge challenges facing residents in the current climate, Elspeth Paisley (BD_Collective) spoke about the opportunity we have together and Donna Radley (Support & Collections) on the Hardship Fund.
You can also find the write-up from the event.
This strategic approach to tackling the health inequalities and effects of the cost of living crisis is an important milestone in partnership working across Barking and Dagenham. Please see the funding specification for the 3 strands of funding that are being launched.
- Community approach for localities
- Community approach for Children & Young People’s mental health
- Community approach for people with no recourse to public funds
The funding for the community approach for localities is for a year, up to 30th September 2023. The funding for both the community approach for Children & Young People’s mental health and the community approach for people with no recourse to public funds is up until March 31st, 2023.
We are committed to working together to secure ongoing funding for the innovative approaches we will design to meet the challenges facing the Borough.
