BD Collective convened a Working Group in 2025, to work through the initial development for a more formal governance structure and transition into an incorporated membership organisation. Their tenure as a group had come to a close at the end of 2025, and we would like to express a big thank you for all the work that have been put in!
MEET THE SECRETARIAT
Our Secretariat team is small but mighty. Amelie oversees the development of BD Collective membership, and Jen leads our Neighbourhood Networks programme. Have any questions for them? Send in your query at our Contact page.

Amelie Tan
Development Lead
Amelie recently moved to Barking and took on the role of Development Lead for BD Collective in January 2025, having previously worked in the third sector tackling climate action. She also spent a decade in various hospitality industry roles early on in her career.
Having lived in several Commonwealth countries prior to her move to UK means she brings a fresh perspective to Barking & Dagenham’s potential and opportunities. She also hopes to support efforts to improve the quality of life for residents via building a stronger community across the VCFSE sector.

Jenny Fribbins
Neighbourhood Networks Development Coordinator
Jenny joined BD Collective in 2020 part-time, to support and develop the communications. However, every time she returned from maternity leave (only twice!) the role shifted, and Jenny had the opportunity to get more involved with supporting the networks. In 2025, Jenny joined the team full-time, to develop the Neighbourhood Network Programme.
Jenny is passionate about building local communities and seeing residents empowered to create positive change. As a resident of Barking and Dagenham, this is not theoretical; she wants the place she lives to be a place of hope – a place that people take pride in.
