TOGETHER WE LEAD?
Conversations about what happens when civil society comes together to solve social problems.
About Together We Lead?
BD_Collective started as a group of Barking & Dagenham charity leaders experimenting to see what they could achieve by working together – rather than in competition – to build trust and shared goals.
Since 2019 we’ve been cultivating a network of networks that connects people, community groups and local providers around shared issues, such as food poverty, to work together to find solutions.
BD_Collective’s learning partner, Michael Little from Ratio published a report reflecting on the experiment and now we’re inviting anyone who has an interest in Barking & Dagenham to join us share ideas, learning and challenge about civil society’s role in creating the environment for change.

Together We Lead? What Happens When Civil Society Comes Together To Solve Social Problems
The second Together We Lead? conversation
Things were buzzing at Three Sixty Workrooms for the second ‘Together We Lead?’ event “Power doesn’t have to be a zero sum”. Brilliant speakers Lela Kogbara, Prof Donna Hall and Amir Rizwan on the panel facilitated by Michael Little. Local voice came via the amazing Manny E.C. Ebokosia, Fiona Taylor, Liliana Hristova and Lucy Lee. The drinks reception that followed was a great chance for people to continue the conversation.
The first Together We Lead? conversation
Our first conversation was led by keynote speaker Dame Julia Unwin and attracted registrations from over 80 community members. The first conversation drew out some interesting questions and reflections on the themes of impact, competition and power.
